BJP to organise more meets with senior Muslim leaders
(This story originally appeared in on Nov 11, 2019)NEW DELHI: BJP brass has decided to organise meetings with Muslim community leaders to thank them for helping maintain peace and harmony after the Supreme Courts Ayodhya verdict.
Senior BJP leaders and ministers have been asked to reach out to the community leaders, a senior party member said. Likewise, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath is also likely to meet the Muslim community leaders.
After the verdict, BJP and RSS are sending out a message of taking everyone along. This was clear from PM Modis speech on Saturday when he urged both the Ram and Rahim bhakts to strengthen the spirit of rashtra bhakti. A similar tone was maintained by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, who said that for him everyone was an Indian first. The confidence-building exercise began in August when Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind chief Maulana Syed Arshad Madani visited Keshav Kunj in national capital to meet RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
